SideLoadR Privacy Policy
Effective date: 4 December 2025
SideLoadR is developed by CompileDaddy (“CompileDaddy,” “we,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy describes how the SideLoadR Android application handles information when you browse APKs, inspect metadata, run scans, and manage sideloaded apps.
1. Information We Collect
SideLoadR is designed to operate entirely on-device. The app does not require user accounts, does not harvest personal information, and does not upload APK packages unless you explicitly trigger a third-party scan. During normal use, the following data points may be processed locally:
- APK file metadata such as file names, package identifiers, version codes, signing certificates, permissions, hashes, and file sizes.
- Device-selected file paths needed to open and analyze APKs in storage you control.
- Network requests generated only when you submit a file hash or sample to an external service that you authorize (e.g., VirusTotal).
We do not collect or receive personal identifiers, contact data, location data, or usage analytics.
2. Local Processing
All APK inspection, hash generation, metadata parsing, install management, and log creation occur locally on your Android device. SideLoadR operates offline by default and only accesses the network when you initiate an outbound scan via an external security API.
3. VirusTotal and Third-Party Scanners
SideLoadR can forward hashes or APK binaries to VirusTotal or other APIs you configure. Those transmissions are strictly user-initiated. When you choose to submit data to a third-party service, the processing and storage of that data are governed by the third party’s policies. CompileDaddy does not control, monitor, or retain submissions made to VirusTotal or similar providers.
4. No Data Retention
CompileDaddy does not maintain cloud logs, telemetry, backups, or databases related to your SideLoadR activity. Any inspection history or cached metadata remains on your device and can be cleared by uninstalling the app or using the in-app cache controls.
5. Security Measures
SideLoadR uses signed releases, verifies download integrity, and avoids embedding analytics SDKs. Because processing is local, the security of your device, operating system, and chosen APKs remains your responsibility. We recommend keeping Android updated, validating APK sources, and enabling device-level encryption.
6. Children’s Privacy
SideLoadR is intended for technically proficient adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data to a third-party scan service through SideLoadR, contact us and the third-party provider immediately.
7. User Rights and Controls
Because CompileDaddy does not store your data, most privacy rights (access, correction, deletion) can be exercised directly on your device by removing files, clearing caches, or uninstalling the app. For submissions made to VirusTotal or another service, please contact that provider to exercise any applicable rights.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect functional or legal changes. Material updates will be packaged with new releases of SideLoadR and published on CompileDaddy.com. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
